A TOWN centre nightclub which has withstood the blows to Bolton's nightlife is about to celebrate its tenth birthday.

Bamboogy opened in Bradshawgate in September 2009, making it one of the town’s longest running nightclubs.

Next weekend (Friday September 27 and Saturday September 28), the club will be holding a birthday weekender to celebrate. The theme will be a ‘unicorn glitter party’ and there will be free party hats, free cake and free surprise gifts for those in attendance. There will also be a free glass of champagne for the first 50 people through the doors.

Helen Stones, club manager, said: “Over the years the town has become increasingly less populated in the night time and some bars and clubs have struggled to stay open and maintain a working business.

“Bamboogy has moved with the times and had re-fits, paint jobs, a new dancefloor, new DJs, new owners, and it has definitely been a plus for us as we have managed to become one of the longest running clubs in Bolton. Bolton is a tough town to hold a business down and over the years we have seen many of clubs open and close within weeks. We are very proud to say we have been running ten long years with many more to come.

“We have become a prime spot in Bolton’s nightlife and it’s an honour to be part of making someone’s night out fun and enjoyable.”

In August 2018, the club was bought by Midlands-based club operator Disco Bars Group. The company made cosmetic changes such as changing the air conditioning and updating the toilets, while keeping most things the same.
