The Poly, Falmouth, will be showcasing two evenings of fascinating talks with explorers and adventurers.

The first evening will include Sue and Victoria Riches, a mother-daughter duo who became part of the first all-women’s expedition to the North Pole.

Antony Jinman will then talk about being a renowned British explorer who is also the 12th Briton to have skied the geographic South Pole.

Adventurer, Duncan Falconer, will present his 'Taking media to war' talk, outlining the terrifying experience of being trapped in a Liberian war zone for two weeks.

On the second night, Benedict Allen, will also share the story of his daring expedition to remote forests of Papua New Guinea.

These events are fundraising evenings for The Tony Trust, a charity established in memory of Tony Rawlingson Plant, who professionally witnessed at first hand the beneficial effects outdoor challenges had on the life of a young person.

The funds raised from these two evenings will enable The Tony Trust to continue to give young people (59 to date), regardless of home circumstances, the opportunity to go on courses which give them new experiences and personal challenges.

A spokesperson from the trust said: "The Tony Trust is incredibly grateful for its Patrons and trustees, for their great contribution to these two evenings at The Poly.

"The venue itself has also been extremely helpful and accommodating in allowing us to get these events up and running.

"We are looking forward to hosting these two unique evenings and hope that these talks will entertain, inspire, and assist in raising the profile of the Tony Trust, so we can continue helping more young people."

They will both be held at The Poly, Falmouth, on Thursday, October 10 at 7:30pm and Thursday, November 14 at 7:30pm respectively.
