A PENRYN drink driver has been banned from the roads.

Ross Andrew Christophers, aged 22, of Treverbyn Rise, admitted committing the offence in Quay Hill, on August 30.

He was driving a Vauxhall Astra and had 59mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance.

Christophers was disqualified for 16 months and fined £230. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

USING threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour has resulted in a fine for a 24 year-old man.

Thomas Stephen Opie, of no fixed address, admitted committing the offence in Falmouth on August 15.

He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

A WOMAN who was three times over the drink-drive limit has been disqualified for more than two years.

Rosalyn Cutts, aged 49, of Mill House, Bissoe, admitted committing the offence at Scorrier on September 6.

She was driving a Peugeot 307 and had 105mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

Cutts was banned for 25 months and fined £733. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and £73 victim surcharge.

A LITHUANIAN man has been disqualified from driving.

Gediminas Gendvilas, aged 29, of Pauls Green Farm, Leedstown, admitted committing the offence in a Volvo V50 in Buckets Hill, Redruth, on September 1.

He had 51mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

Gendvilas was banned for 14 months and fined £300. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

DRINK-DRIVING has led to a ban for a 56 year-old man.

William Hugh Saunders, of White Hart Inn, Ludgvan, admitted committing the offence in a Peugeot 206 on the A30 at Penzance.

He had 59mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was disqualified for 16 months and fined £260.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

A 47 year-old man drove without due care and attention.

Alan Joseph Lee Anderson, of The Sanctuary, Plain an Gwarry, near Redruth, admitted committing the offence on March 28 in a silver Honda on Treyew Road, Truro.

He was fined £166 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six points.

A 23 year-old Tregony man has been banned from the roads.

Brannon James Authers Cummins, of Little Halbote, admitted committing the offence on the A3078 at St Just in Roseland in a Fiat Punto on September 9.

He had 47mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was disqualified for 14 months and fined £276.

He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

A WOMAN who assaulted a police officer has been fined £184.

Sharon Dorothy Jones, aged 53, of Lower Brea, Camborne, admitted committing the offence on September 9 in Camborne.

She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

A 48 year-old woman has received a suspended prison sentence for claiming benefit to which she wasn't entitled.

Mandy Jane Tiller, aged 48, of The Glebe, Tregony, admitted three separate offences.

Between February 1, 2014 and July 24, 2017, she dishonestly failed to notify Cornwall Council that she was in possession of money in excess of the savings limit to entitle her to housing benefit.

Then on two separate occasions - February 19, 2015 and April 3, 2017 - she dishonestly made a statement that she was not in possession of money in excess of the capital limit to entitle her to income support.

She was sentenced to 22 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months.

She was ordred to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
