A total of eleven flood warnings remain in place around the Cornish coast today.

High tide has just passed in the last two hours and although Fowey and Looe suffered some minor problems overnight, the county has escaped relatively unscathed.

The Ship Inn, in Mevagissey, also suffered some flooding last night, but after a clean-up operation this morning they will be open for business as usual.

The time of the high tide in Falmouth was 7.46am.

High astronomical tides and Force 5 south westerly winds, combined with offshore wave heights of up to three metres, are forecast to cause flooding to properties.

The weather conditions were expected to increase water levels by up to 250mm higher than forecast tide levels.

Waves and spray are likely, so take care near coastal paths and promenades.

There may be localised standing water on roads - do not drive through flood water or waves.

Locations particularly at risk include Commercial Road Penryn, Trefusis Road Flushing, the A39 at Perranarworthal and the A390 at Tresillian.
