A WOMAN drove whilst under the influence of cocaine, Cornwall magistrates heard.

Catherine Maria Bennett, 44, of The Brake, Coombe, near Truro, admitted committing the offence in a grey Fiat 500 in Newquay, on March 2. Magistrates imposed a community order, requiring her to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.

She was disqualified from driving for 22 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

A MAN who assaulted a woman in Truro at the weekend has appeared before Truro magistrates.

Steven Oxborrow, aged 37, of no fixed address, admitted committing the offence on Saturday.
