Police have revealed a second vehicle may have been involved in a crash near Tregony that left a man with serious injuries.

They have now issued a fresh appeal for information after a black Audi A3 overturned on the B3287 near to the Creed junction at 2pm last Thursday.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from the Truro area, sustained serious back injuries and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A police spokesperson said this lunchtime: "Police are investigating a line of enquiry that a second vehicle - a dark-coloured Range Rover or Land Rover – could have been involved in the incident and are appealing for information.

"Officers are also particularly keen to speak with the occupants of a white family-style hatchback car that may have been on the B3287 at the time and may have seen the black Audi travelling towards Tregony."

Following the collision, in which it was initially believed no other vehicles were involved, the driver of the Audi was taken first to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro before being transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

His passenger, a 28-year-old woman from Newquay, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the Treliske hospital.

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have information about another vehicle involved is asked to email 101@dc.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 398 of 03/10/19.
