Hotel owners have applied for permission to convert their 12-bedroom property into a house in multiple occupation (HMO).
A planning application for change of use has been submitted relating to the Arwenack Hotel, Arwenack Street.
Planning permission was granted in February this year to change it into five separate apartments.
If the latest application is granted, it will give owners permission to carry out internal works to create six additional bedrooms.
Cornwall Council will make a decision on the application in due course.
