A new documentary about writer Nick Darke produced in Cornwall is set to be released soon.

The film features unseen footage of Nick and interviews from a variety of creative artists from both Cornwall and further afield.

The Nick Darke Documentary was produced by Jane Darke alongside filmmaker Andrew Tebbs.

Interviews with more than 20 people influenced by Nick, including director Mark Jenkin, actress Bec Applebee and composer Jim Carey all feature in the film.

Jane said: "Nick is high in the minds of many people, as last August Nick would have turned 70 years old and there were many events to celebrate all he'd achieved and the work he'd inspired.

"This documentary is to recognise his influence and when better to share this than in his seventieth year?"

Jane is now calling on the people of Cornwall to help raise extra funds to support the editing process.

It has been supported by Hall for Cornwall, Rick Stein, Dawn French and Freerange Films as well as fans around the world.
