FIVE team members from a Falmouth hotel took to the clouds and braved a 10,000 foot skydive to raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance’s New Heli Appeal.

The fearless five, from the Greenbank Hotel, took the leap of faith landing in Perranporth.

Managing director Ben Young, wedding and events manager Jane Williams, bar manager Yohann Thuillier, purchasing and projects manager Mike Parsons and executive chef Nick Hodges, collectively raised a staggering £3,000 for the worthy Cornish charity.

Jane, who recently celebrated her 70th birthday, described the jump as “thrilling and something I am so pleased to have finally experienced".

She said: “After receiving so many kind donations I couldn’t be nervous. I owed it to everyone who gave generously and I’m so happy we were able to raise so much money.”

The skydive is one of many fundraising activities that The Greenbank team have been getting involved in to help raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance’s New Heli Appeal.

Since the beginning of the year, the harbourside hotel in Falmouth have well and truly succeeded their pledge of £10,000 to the charity.

Alongside their sister hotel – The Alverton in Truro – the skydive sponsorship now takes their grand total to a fantastic £36,000.

With only a few months left of 2019, both hotels still have lots of events and plans to keep fundraising.
