A PRAZE man has pleaded guilty to breaking a 70mph speed limit.

Joseph Edward George Smith, aged 23, of Old School, Fore Street, committed the offence on the A30 at Temple on February 27.

He was fined £107 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

DRUNK and disorderly behaviour in Helston resulted in a court appearance for a 27 year-old man.

Joshua James Cooper, of City Road, Truro, admitted committing the offence at the Old Cattle Market on September 24.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and £21 victim surcharge.

THREE shoplifting offences have resulted in a court appearance for a 33-year-old woman.

Shelley Lowena Graves, c/o Appin Gardens, Pool, stole a bottle of gin from Aldi and three bottles of perfume from Boots in Camborne on April 8. She also stole two bottles of gin from Aldi on April 5. She pleaded guilty to all three offences. Graves was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Truro magistrates. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs, £20 compensation and £20 victim surcharge.

A DRINK-driver has been banned from the roads for 20 months.

Colin Gary Carpenter, 26, of Ports End, North Country, admitted committing the offence in Chapel Street, Redruth, on September 29. He had 80mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was also fined £500 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £50 victim surcharge.

A FALMOUTH man drove without insurance.

Theodorus Seweuster, aged 53, of Bowles Road, committed the offence in Truro on May 18.

He also drove without an MOT certificate on his Vauxhall.

He was fined £660 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

His licence was endorsed with six points.

DRIVING without insurance has resulted in a disqualification for a 30 year-old man.

Matthew Trevor Brown, of Penhalls Way, Playing Place, committed the offence in Truro on April 30.

He also drove without an MOT certificate.

He was banned from the roads for six months and fined £300.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

AN EMPLOYEE of Home Bargains stole more than £1,000 from the shop's tills.

Matthew John Dutton, aged 39, of Mount Pleasant, Hayle, admitted committing the offence in the Hayle store between December 5, 2018 and January 7, 2019.

Magistrates imposed a community order requiring him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

He must also pay compensation of £1,035.90 and was ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

A 33 year-old man admitted being drunk and disorderly in Redruth.

Jacob Paul Samuel Grattan, of Four Acres, Veryan, committed the offence on September 25 in East Pool Park.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and £21 victim surcharge.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 19 months.

Anthony Raymond Williams, aged 34, of Trevithick View, Camborne, admitted committing the offence in a red Subaru in Camborne, on September 30.

He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.
