The Cornish Pirates made it two wins from two in the Greene King IPA Championship, winning 44-25 at Doncaster Knights on Saturday.

Fly-half Javier Rojas Alvarez starred with 24 of his side's points, converting all five tries and scoring one of them himself, and kicking three penalties.

Nicolas De Battista, Brett Beukeboom, Alex O'Meara and Calum Patterson scored the other four tries to seal a bonus-point win.

Redruth continued their good form in National League 2 South with a 35-28 win at home to Bury St Edmunds.

Brad Janes and Jack Oulton scored first-half tries as the Reds went into half-time one point down at 15-16, but full-back Matt Shepherd struck twice early in the second half as the Reds marched clear of their opponents, before two penalties from Fraser Honey, who converted three of the tries, completed the scoring.

Falmouth ran in seven tries at home to Wiveliscombe to earn their second bonus-point victory of the Tribute Western Counties West season.

Penryn also enjoyed a bonus-point win on home soil, beating Bideford 37-19 at the Memorial Ground.

Truro were beaten for the second time this season in the Cornwall/Devon league, losing 25-28 at Plymstock Albion Oaks.

Pirates Amateurs move above Bude into seventh after winning 30-5 at home to the north Cornwall club, while Lanner slip to fifth after losing 16-10 at North Tawton.

Elsewhere, Veor lost 32-15 at Liskeard-Looe.

In Cornwall 1, Hayle kept their noses in front at the top of the table with a 40-18 win at home to Illogan Park, Camborne SoM won 26-12 at home to Lankelly-Fowey, and St Agnes won 17-11 at St Just.

In Cornwall 2, Helston opened up a two-point gap at the top thanks to an 80-12 thrashing of Camelford, while Stithians won 27-17 at Redruth Albany.
