A man has been airlifted to hospital after seriously injuring himself with a firework.
Emergency services were scrambled to Mullion Football Club last night, following a 999 call for help.
The alarm was raised at 8pm, with the coastguard rescue helicopter and the ambulance service involved.
Volunteers from Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team were called in to clear a landing site for the helicopter, which landed on the football pitch.
The injured man was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, where there is a specialist burns unit as part of its plastic surgery department.
A coastguard spokesperson said: "At 8pm last night HM Coastguard was asked for help for at Mullion Football Club where a man was reported to have injured himself with a firework.
"The Coastguard Rescue Team from Mullion was sent to prepare a landing site for the search and rescue helicopter from Newquay, which airlifted him for onwards medical care.
"South West Ambulance Service was also on the scene."
