With Bonfire Night fast approaching, we have compiled a list of organised fireworks displays in west, east and mid Cornwall where you can enjoy the colourful sights and sounds while letting someone else do all the hard work:

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1

Fireworks in St Mawes: Stalls, refreshments, “Guy” competition and more at St Mawes Harbour, weathe permitting. Arrive 7pm for a 7.30pm display.

St Keverne Fireworks Display at the Three Tuns: Taking place in the field behind the Three Tuns pub, gates open at 6pm, bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks from 7pm. Barbecue and food vans, plus other stalls. Music from Jay Burleigh following the display, from 8pm.

No parking available on the evening – please use the square and the parish council’s charity car park in Lemon Street, a two-minute walk away.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2

Mousehole Firework Display at Mousehole AFC: Free entry to all, with food, drinks, sparklers, build your own guy workshop, face paint and sweet stalls, plus firework display and a bonfire. Gates open at Trungle Parc, Paul from 5pm.

Tregony Fireworks & Bonfire, at Tregony Sports Field: Bring a guy with you and get free entry and a bag of sweets. Tickets cost £4 adults, £2 under 16s or family ticket of two adults and three children for £10; under-fives go for free. Gates open 6.30pm, bonfire lit at 7pm, fireworks at 7.30pm. Food and drink, licensed bar, children’s rides and bouncy castle, sparklers and glowsticks.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5

Falmouth Cricket Club: The annual display organised by Falmouth Fire Station is one of the biggest around. Gates open at the club off Trescobeas Road at 6pm, with fairground rides, music, entertainment and food stalls including hot dogs, burgers and hog roast. The club bar will be open for other refreshments.

Entry fee is £4 adults and £2 children (children must be accompanied by an adult), with proceeds supporting local causes. No parking is available on site, apart from disabled parking.

Heartlands Firework Display: Attended by more than 10,000 people each year, gates open at Heartlands in Dundance Lane, Pool from 6.30pm.

This year the venue is also hosting a Black Tie Event giving a VIP experience, with the Red River Café transformed into a fine dining restaurant for a four-course evening meal and drink on arrival before viewing the display on the patio in front of the conservatory, under heat lamps and throws. Tickets cost £125.

Wendron Cricket Club Family Firework Party: Organisers have promised a display of more than £1,000 worth of fireworks at the Underlane ground, Carnkie. Gates open from 6.30pm with the display at 7.30pm. Admission is £4 for adults and £1 for accompanied children; unaccompanied children £4. Hot food and drinks available from the clubhouse, with licensed bar. Free parking.

Please do not bring your own fireworks or sparklers and rubbish cannot be accepted for the bonfire.

Penzance Firework Display at Penlee Park: Gates open at 6pm.

Chacewater Firework Display: Gates open and barbecue with refreshments on sale from 6pm, judging of the homemade guy competition at 6.30pm, lighting of the bonfire at 6.45pm and fireworks display from 7.30pm.

The Driftwood Spars, St Agnes: A firework display with caged bonfire, children’s entertainment and fire performers from 5pm. There will also be a barbecue, hog roast and mulled wine.

Tremorvah Playing Fields Bonfire and Firework Display, Truro: Annual bonfire and firework display with glow sticks, sparklers, hot food and refreshments, from 5pm. For more information call 01872 274555.

The Engine Inn, Nancledra: A night of fun to celebrate Guy Fawkes from 5.30pm. Guys are invited for burning on the fire, with a prize for the best.

Coverack: Firework display on the harbour from 7pm, with barbecue, raffle, glow sticks and refreshments on the Bay Hotel Lawn from 6.15pm. This year there will be a bonfire on the beach and the Bay Hotel has offered to have the marquee on their lawn.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8

Breage Social Club: Charity fundraiser with fireworks display and raffle in aid of CoppaFeel and Breast Cancer UK, at 7pm.
