Rapidly developing Helston Business Park took a step closer to getting a third business on site when keys were handed over to new tenants.

Bradfords Building Supplies is due to open its doors in March next year, joining Screwfix and Forms Plus.

Construction of the unit and surrounding yard has now been completed and over the next four months until opening the Bradford’s team has the task of turning the turning the bespoke designed site into a modern builders’ merchant.

Branch manager Pete Slinn took hold of the keys from Matt Lugg, director of MJL Cornwall, which is developing the site.

Pete said: “It’s really exciting to now have control of the site.

“To prepare the branch for our opening in March is no small task. Fortunately I have a great team behind me who are committed to transforming the site into a truly modern builders’ merchant capable of providing an excellent service to the local community.”

The Helston branch will be Bradfords’ 43rd branch in the south west and open as the company celebrates its 250th anniversary – something that the company said would be reflected in the décor of the new outlet.

Cath Mullin, Bradfords’ area director for Cornwall, said: “With an anniversary that few businesses can claim, we understand the importance of not only demonstrating our commitment to providing valuable service to the local community through the building of this new branch, but also the value we place on the heritage of this very special business.”
