FALMOUTH Fire Station's annual fireworks display is going ahead on Tuesday - but it comes with a warning.

A fire service spokesman has asked the public to wear suitable foot wear to the event at Falmouth Cricket Club, given the recent wet conditions.

A facebook post on the station's page said: "Please be advised that although the forecast is dry for our firework display this Tuesday, the cricket club grounds have suffered from all the recent rain.

"Please come prepared and wear suitable foot wear, as it still remains very wet underfoot. We’re looking forward to a great display, see you there."

The annual display is one of the biggest in the county.

Gates open at the club off Trescobeas Road at 6pm, with fairground rides, music, entertainment and food stalls including hot dogs, burgers and hog roast. The club bar will be open for other refreshments.

Entry fee is £4 adults and £2 children (children must be accompanied by an adult), with proceeds supporting local causes. No parking is available on site, apart from disabled parking.
