An emergency road closure in place in Falmouth this lunchtime has been lifted.
People were told to avoid one of the main roads to the town as "significant congestion"was expected.
Cornwall Council said that following a report of several large, damaged tree limbs overhanging the A39 Dracaena Avenue in Falmouth, it was necessary to close the road with immediate effect for the safety of road users, and to allow the emergency removal works to take place safely.
A spokesperson said: "The road will be closed until approximately 3.30pm from the Ponsharden Roundabout to the four way junction with Kimberley Park Road and Trescobeas Road.
"Diversions are in place via the A39 to Hill Head Roundabout then Union Corner roundabout and Trescobeas Road
"Please avoid the immediate area for at least the next three hours if at all possible as the surrounding road network will likely be significantly congested as a result.”
It has since been confirmed that the road has reopened again, now that work has been completed.
