There will be a chance to meet animals and buy local crafts and produce this Saturday when Helston Fatstock Show returns.

There is free entry to visit the event, which takes place at Franchis Farm on the Helston to Wendron road, opposite Wheal Dream.

From 10am families will have the chance to see cattle, sheep, farm produce, cookery, photography and crafts, as well as look at a range of stalls selling goods and gifts.

A charity auction will be held at around 1.30pm, with auctioneer Ivor Mann of John Coad and Son in Helston. Items have been donated by local businesses, including a number of meals out, and all proceeds will go to the show president's chosen charity for this year, Cornwall Air Ambulance Heli Appeal.

The event is chance for families to learn more about where food comes from.

It is now in its 149th year and is all held under one roof in a large shed at Franchis Fram, thanks to owner Bob Cowell.
