A FALMOUTH man will appear in Truro Crown Court next month accused of perverting the course of justice.

Yeter Acar, aged 54, of Church Street, is charged with fabricating a sale of his vehicle to a fictitious person and denying involvement in a safety camera offence and registering another vehicle in a fictitious name.

The alleged offence took place between January 21 and June 7 this year.

He also faces a second charge of withholding previous motoring convictions and disqualification in obtaining an insurance certificate.

He is alleged to have committed that offence on September 19, 2018.

At his hearing on Tuesday, Truro magistrates sent the case to crown court for trial on Friday, December 13. He was released on unconditional bail.

The charge of perverting the course of justice is indictable only, meaning that it can only be dealt with at crown court, given the seriousness of the charge.
