Falmouth and Penryn Fundraising Group held a fundraising Firewalk at Princess Pavilion to raise vital funds for the local Marie Curie caring services.

Firewalkers were briefed by Time4Change, given a motivational talk before braving the challenge of walking over hot coals.

Local fundraising group member, Jenny Gillan, who took part, said: “I was so proud to have completed the firewalk and would urge anyone thinking of doing it to give it a go. It was for such a good cause, and to challenge yourself was liberating, freeing a total adrenaline rush.”

More than £2,000 was raised which will help Marie Curie continue providing care night and day in people’s homes, providing hands-on care and emotional support.

All services provided by Marie Curie are free of charge and fundraising events like the Firewalk help make a big difference.
