BID Camborne has announced the start of this year’s competition to decide the town’s best Christmas window displays.

Judging will take place on December 9 and the 2019 theme is A Camborne Christmas Carol.

“Camborne does Christmas beautifully, with lots of atmosphere, lovely lights and a real sense of festive fun for all the family,” said BID Manager Anna Pascoe.

“Our local businesses always come up with some fantastic displays and we’re looking forward to seeing them develop over the coming weeks in the lead-up to the big day.

“Each window will be judged by Santa and his elves. We are lucky to have a very supportive local community who love Christmas and, like us, thoroughly appreciate the effort that goes into creating some wonderful windows.”

Established in 2012, BID Camborne has a long track record of working with the town’s businesses and the Chamber of Commerce, which previously ran the popular event.

“The Chamber of Commerce has done a great job organising and supporting the Camborne Christmas shop window competition over the years and BID Camborne is delighted to be following in their footsteps,” said Anna.

“Everyone always enjoys the shopfronts looking their festive best. We have also been working with youth groups in Camborne to create specially designed Christmas cards which will be available to buy around the town during switch-on week. Our particular thanks go to the Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Boys Brigade.”
