Tributes have been paid to a 20-year-old man who died following an industrial incident on board a vessel at Newlyn Harbour.

Emergency services were called to The Strand at around 4.15pm on Friday, November 15.

Conor Moseley, from the Penzance area, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His family has now paid the following tribute: “Conor Moseley is described by his family and those who knew him as a ‘legend’, known for his smile which was as bright as the stars.

“Having grown up around the Newlyn fishing community, Conor was well known and loved by the fishermen who got to know him well over the years from when he used to help land the fish from his dad's boat as a young boy.

“Since he was a child Conor wanted nothing more than to follow in his father’s footsteps and work out at sea on the fishing boats.

“With this in mind Conor arranged his school work experience at the harbour and was in the process of completing a level three apprenticeship in mechanical engineering to widen his options within his chosen field.

“To all who knew him Conor was a very kind-hearted lad.

“Devoted to his family, Conor would take on the mantle of the ‘man of the family’ when his father was at sea providing support to his mother, sister and niece.

“Conor got on with everybody and will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues and most of all by his family.

“Conor’s family would like to express their thanks for the many heartfelt messages, and flowers that they have received from far and wide.”
