The streets of Truro were packed with thousands of people as the annual City of Lights parade marked the start of the festive season.
Every year the Christmas lights, which are installed and maintained by Truro Business Improvement District (BID), are refreshed and this is funded by the levy contribution to the BID from around hundreds of businesses in the area.
Despite the recent rain, the weather was kind on the evening, with dry conditions enabling the gathered crowds to enjoy the parade.
The lights will be swtiched on daily until early January 2020.
