A HELSTON woman who harassed a man has appeared before Truro magistrates.

Sandra Joy Andrews, aged 55, of Jubliee Terrace, admitted sending the victim electronic messages and a letter between July 25 and August 18, which was against his wishes and advice given by a police officer on July 31.

She was given a 24-month conditional discharge and a restraining order was imposed until November 24, 2020, forbidding her from contacting the victim.

She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £21 victim surcharge.

A DRINK-DRIVER from Helston has been banned from the roads for 14 months.

James Alexander Robert Young, aged 30, of St Johns Road, admitted committing the offence on June 7 on Porthleven Road in Helston.

He was driving a Toyota Yaris when he registered 128mlgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood. The legal limit is 80mlgs.

Young was also fined £249 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

DRIVING whilst disqualified and whilst over the alcohol limit has resulted in a prison sentence for a Camborne man.

Conor Richard Elsey, aged 24, of Trelowarren Street, admitted a total of five offences when he appeared before Truro magistrates on Monday.

They all related to an incident on November 23.

Elsey drove a Seat Alhambra on Agar Road, Pool, with 62mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was found to be disqualified from driving and without insurance.

He also pleaded guilty to assault by beating and resisting a policeman in the execution of his duty.

The offences breached a suspended prison sentence which he had received on January 21, for driving whilst disqualified in a VW Golf in Camborne on January 2.

Elsey was jailed for a total of 18 weeks and ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for 19 months and three days.

A MAN who failed to stop at an accident in which another person was injured has been given a community order.

Jared Ayden Gilkes, aged 22, of Strawberry Fields, Lanner, admitted committing the offence in a black Volkswagen Golf on July 26 at Tolgus Mount.

He must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and has had nine points put on his licence.

He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £90 victim surcharge.

BEING drunk and disorderly in the centre of Truro has resulted in a fine for a 33 year-old man.

Stephen Anthony Harvey, of Lower Park, Tresillian, admitted committing the offence in Victoria Square on November 6.

He also admitted committing the offence while a community order is in force. It had been made on April 1, 2019.

He was put under curfew via electronic monitoring for two months. He was also fined £18 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

BEING drunk and disorderly in the centre of Camborne has resulted in a fine for a 45 year-old man.

Kevin Lown, of Straight Court, Pengegon, admitted committing the offence in Commercial Square on October 23.

He also admitted committing the offence whilst being the subject of a suspended prison sentence imposed by Truro Crown Court on September 20, for possessing a bladed article.

He was fined £18 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

A TRURO man has been fined £200 for driving without insurance.

Kelvin Neil Humphries, aged 24, of Trevean Road, admitted committing the offence in a Saab, in Camborne on November 9.

His licence was endorsed with six points and he was ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.
