Devon and Cornwall Police have released more information about a manhunt on Thursday after a man reportedly stole a firearm from a Falmouth address.
A spokesperson told the Packet on Friday: “Police were called around 6.15pm yesterday [November 28] following reports that a man had entered an address in Falmouth and stolen a firearm.
“A group of men were later seen trying to enter another property in the Berkeley Vale area of the town.
“Local officers along with firearms officers attended the scene and carried out a search of the area, including Tregoniggie Woods, with assistance of a Royal Netherlands Navy helicopter deployed from RNAS Culdrose.
“Further enquiries led to an address in Penryn and a containment was placed on a property.
“Following negotiations, two people were safely removed from the address.
“A 29-year-old man from Cornwall has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, theft and making threats to kill.
“A 27-year-old man of no fixed address, Liskeard, was arrested on suspicion of using violence to secure entry and possession of suspected Class A drugs [cocaine].
“Both remain in custody at this time.”
