Musicians are inviting children and adults to experience a day of free experimental workshops and concerts.

The event, organised by the CO:NOISE project, will feature several music workshops teaching children how to build their own synthesizers before giving them the chance to perform.

It is completely free, having received Arts Council funding, and will run from 2pm until 9pm on Saturday December 14 at St Gluvias Hall.

People of any or no musical ability are welcome to come along to the inclusive event and try their hand at producing some interesting sounds.

From 2pm to 3pm there will be a synthesizer building workshop for children aged 11-17 where they will be given all the necessary equipment.

There will then be an experimental music performance workshop for ages 11-17 in which children can learn how to use their creations, improvise and perform with others.

Following that, an 'experimental guitar orchestra' allows people aged over 11 to try out unusual ways of playing the instrument from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Finally, from 6pm to 9pm, there will be an open 'have-a-go' concert for all ages. For this session, organisers say: "It will be impossible to make a mistake or a bad sound, as we have designed the instruments so that they are easy to play even if you've never played an instrument in your life or think you might be 'tone-deaf'."
