TWO acts have been announced for next year's Eden Sessions summer gigs.

Alt-pop trio The Script will perform and there is also a return for global superstar Lionel Richie.

The Irish band are riding high after their sixth studio album Sunsets & Full Moons reached number one in the charts last month (November 2019). They will play in front of the Eden Biomes on Wednesday, July 15.

Having returned with the emotive first single The Last Time, Sunsets & Full Moons is the sound of The Script, namely Danny O’Donoghue (vocals, piano, guitar), Mark Sheehan (vocals, guitars) and drummer Glen Power - focusing on the inclusive, uplifting songwriting that helped them become an arena-filling band with a fervent fan base the world over.

Rita Broe, managing director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said: “With such a charismatic frontman in Danny and a fabulous catalogue of songs, The Script are tailor-made for the Eden Sessions. We are honoured to be able to announce them for 2020 and confident that this will be one of the highlights of the summer.”

Tickets to The Script Eden Session on July 15, 2020, cost £50 plus £5 booking fee and are on sale to members of the Inside Track club from 12 noon today, Thursday December 5, and go on general sale at 4pm on Tuesday December 10 on

Lionel Richie is to return to Cornwall to headline the Eden Sessions next summer.

The global superstar, whose classic tracks include All Night Long, Dancing on the Ceiling and Hello, will appear at the home of the famous Biomes on Wednesday June 17, 2020.

Lionel played two blockbuster, sell-out shows at Eden in July 2016. The concerts were hailed as among the greatest ever in the history of the Sessions and his return will be eagerly anticipated by his legions of fans.

People who saw him here a few summers ago will never forget the charm and magic he brought to the Eden stage. We can’t wait to welcome you back, Lionel.”

Lionel Richie has four Grammys, a Golden Globe and an Oscar to his name and has sold well over 100 million albums worldwide. Sales of his latest album Hello from Las Vegas put him at Number One in the Billboard Artist 100 chart in August this year (2019).

The singer-songwriter from Tuskegee, Alabama first found fame singing and writing songs with The Commodores including the all-time classics Three Times A Lady, Stuck On You, Still, and Easy.

After turning solo he became one of the most successful artists in the world, earning a string of 13 top ten hits between 1981 and 1987, including nine number one singles such as Endless Love, Truly, and Say You (Say Me).

In September (2019) The Eden Project and global live events company AEG Presents announced a new partnership, Eden Sessions Ltd, to run the Eden Sessions.
