A popular Falmouth chippie is inviting people to nominate a community hero for an award.

Harbour Lights is searching for nominees for its Community Hero Awards for 2020.

Winner will receive, as well as prize money and a trophy, free fish and chips for the whole of 2020.

There will be a presentation ceremony at Harbour Lights for shortlisted finalists and supporters on January 27.

Organisers say the aim of the awards is to celebrate the “special humans we have in our local community.”

It is the third year that the awards have been run, with previous winners including community first responder John Brooks and football coach Ashley Brackley-May.

Organisers said: “We are looking for nominations from anyone who feels they know someone who deserves some recognition for their dedication and hard work for a good cause, or the continuing support to the greater good or general good egg.”

They went on to say: “If you know someone who you feel needs some recognition and a thank you for all that they do for a community group, charity or sports club, then get in touch and let us know.

“Let us share in some appreciation, recognition and reward for the Falmouth residents that continue to make a difference.”

Nominations can be made via e-mail hello@harbourlights.co.uk or by filling out a form available at Harbour Lights.
