A FUNDRAISER has been launched to help a homeless group of dogs after one of them died in a fire.
The seven Newfoundlands were rescued from a burning bungalow in Chandler’s Ford.
A fire tore through the property on Leigh Road leaving two of them with severe burns and needing treatment for smoke inhalation following the incident on Sunday night.
Blue, Monty, Celeste, Remy, Woody, Swift and Rafferty survived the initial blaze.
However it has been reported that Swift has now been put to sleep.
The news was broken by Kathy Otto, who is acting as a spokesperson for the Lamb family, which owns the dogs.
According to Kathy, Swift, 10, was poorly before the fire and her death has been “devastatingly upsetting” for the family.
She has launched a campaign to raise £5,000 to help the Lambs who have “lost everything” and have been left with a “huge” vet bill. The family are described as being “very grateful” for messages and offers of help.
