EXCEEDING a 60mph speed limit has resulted in a fine for a Redruth man.

Neil Barrett, aged 47, of Canfield Terrace, committed the offence on June 1 in an Audi A3 at Roseworthy.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Carl Edwards THomas Hobday, aged 42, of Sylvester Buildings, Trewennack, Helston, committed the offences on June 1 in a BMW X1.

The first offence took place at Menheniot on the A38 when he exceeded a 70mph limit and then again at Notter Bridge, when he broke a 50mph limit.

DRIVING whilst disqualified has resulted in a suspended prison sentence for a 35 year-old man.
Aidas Rimsa, of Chapel Road, Leedstown, admitted committing the offence on August 4 in a silver Fiat Doblo, on Trenerth Road, Leedstown.
He also admitted driving without insurance.
Magistrates said the reason for custody was because of his deliberate offending and the potential risk to other road users.
He received an eight-week jail term suspended for 24 months.
He was also ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
