With less than a fortnight left before the big day, Father Christmas gave his reindeer a rest and enlisted the help of RNAS Culdrose for a flying visit to some of the county’s poorly children this week.
Four members of the Helston naval base’s 820 squadron joined Santa and two of his elves at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, to hand out gifts in the children’s wards.
The presents had been donated by the personnel from the air station and brought a smile to the faces of youngsters having to stay in hospital in the run up to Christmas.
