Firefighters were called to New Town Lane to extinguish the flames
Police and firefighters were called to Penzance's New Town Lane after youths started a fire.
The suspected arsonists lit the fire at around 2am on Tuesday morning near some bins.
A fire engine from Penzance Community Fire Station attended the scene and extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet.
Firefighters called the police to investigate.
By sifting through CCTV footage, the authorities were able to locate those believed to be responsible for the fire.
It is not believed any damage was caused. Enquiries are ongoing.
