A PORTHLEVEN man who drove without insurance has been banned from the roads.

Adam Jason Ferguson, aged 26, of Gibson Way, committed the offence in a Vauxhall on July 21.

He was disqualified from seven months and fined £660.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £66 victim surcharge.

BREAKING a 60mph speed limit has resulted in a fine for a 27 year-old man.

Jack Benjamin Willis, of Bodinnar Close, Newbridge, Penzance, admitted committing the offence on May 21.

He was fined £146 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with three points.

A 28 year-old man has been made the subject of a restraining order after pleading guilty to assault.

Oliver Charles Eatwell, of Ayr Court, St Ives, admitted committing the offence on January 4.

Magistrates said that he must not contact the female victim for three years.

He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

STEALING almost £500 of razor blades and cosmetics has resulted in a court appearance for a 44 year-old man.

Andrew Charles Bidmead, of Trenoweth Estate, North Country, near Redruth, admitted committing the offence on November 14.

He stole the goods from Asda in Hayle.

Magistrates imposed a community order requiring him to have treatment for alcohol dependency for nine months.

He will also be electronically monitored for 12 weeks and was ordered to pay £485.50 compensation.
