These pictures show the ultimate parking fail - a motorist who crashed into their own garage causing it to collapse around them.

Photos show the aftermath after the driver of a grey Honda freed by fire crews from the wreckage which completely destroyed his garage.

The walls had collapsed and the roof was laying on top of the car - so the two people inside the car had to be pulled to safety through the boot.

The cause of the crash is unclear, but rescuers from the fire service have confirmed that the vehicle involved was attempting to park at his own home in Wadebridge yesterday.

Wadebridge Community Fire Station shared pictures and details of the incident, which show the car still in the remains of the garage, surrounded by rubble.

They posted on Facebook: "This afternoon, firefighters from Wadebridge and Bodmin Community Fire Station were alerted to a single vehicle road traffic collision in Wadebridge.

"On arrival it became apparent that the vehicle had collided with a residential property and two people were trapped inside.

"The crew stabilised the garage before rescuing both casualties through the boot of the vehicle.

"They were both checked over by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and remarkably were relatively uninjured.

"Devon & Cornwall Police were also in attendance."

A spokesperson later added: "It was their own garage, I can't disclose any more information than that."
