A MAN admitted assaulting a female health care assistant.

Ross Graham Darby, aged 39, of Harveys Way, Hayle, committed the offence on September 7 in Truro. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

CAUSING harassment, alarm or distress has resulted in a court appearance for a 20 year-old man.

Sabion Friggens, of The Vicarage, Mount Hawke, admitted committing the offence on the A30 at Crowlas on August 29.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and £21 victim surcharge.

Kelly Marie Van Evelingen, of Penarrow Close, Falmouth, committed the offence on August 9 in Truro.

She was driving a green Ka when she registered 51mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

She was disqualified for 15 months and fined £300. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 19 months.

Richard Colin Dower, aged 36, of Sparnon Hill, Redruth, admitted committing the offence on December 27 in Buller Hill, Redruth.

He was driving a red Peugeot 306 when he registered 70mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He also admitted driving without insurance.

He was fined a total of £280 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.
