A DOG has been rescued from a mineshaft following an afternoon of drama near Penzance.
Firefighters from Hayle and Tolvaddon, including specialist line rescue technicians, rescued Bo, a German Shepherd, after it had fallen down the mine at Long Lanes, St Hilary.
They were originally tasked to the scene just after 1pm and by 2.30pm, a firefighter was lowered into the shaft using lines.
Fifteen minutes later the dog was successfully rescued by the fire service and handed over to its grateful owner.
