A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of 'explosive offences' in an ongoing incident in Swain House.

The counter terrorism unit is leading an operation on Sutton Avenue with a police cordon in place at its junction with Swain House Road, running to where the first block of houses on the left ends.
The pre-planned arrest has seen the man taken to the police station where he will face further questioning.

An armed bomb disposal unit has been called to one of the properties being investigated for their specialist advice.
Due to the ongoing incident, nearby residents have been forced to evacuate as a precaution.
At around 11:55, an Incommunities Gas Services van also arrived at the scene.
