A fundraising group based in Truro is organising a sponsored walk called Harbour to Harbour to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Little Harbour in St Austell.

The walk is happening on Sunday, April 19, with three different routes and distances, making it something that everyone can get involved in.

Routes include 12 miles from Devoran to Portreath, nine miles from Bissoe to Portreath or five miles from Scorrier to Portreath.

Roger Clarke, chairman of CHSW’s Truro Friends Group, which is organising the event, said: “We organised our first Harbour to Harbour walk in 2016 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Children’s Hospice South West and it raised over £10,000.

"Following on from the success in 2016 we are really looking forward to getting even more people walking and even more money raised this year.”

Registration for the walk costs £10 per adult or £20 for a family of two adults with children.

Included in the ticket price will be a free Prima Bakery pasty, a cream tea at Portreath School and transport back to your car. The walk is being supported by Perranzabuloe Rotary Club, which will be assisting with the marshalling and cream teas.

This event is an opportunity to walk along the mineral tramway, join with friends, family and colleagues and dogs on leads are welcome to join in too.

Sponsorship raised by those taking part will help CHSW to continue offering care to children and families that visit Little Harbour for respite, end of life care and bereavement support.

Places on the walk are limited, so apply quickly by emailing rogclarke1@btinternet.com or calling Roger on 01209 481975.
