TUCKED away in the The Old Brewery Yard, new restaurant MINE has opened its doors.
Serving food made from the best of Cornish produce, everything you eat at MINE is made in house and sourced locally.
Katy Mulheir, co-owner, said: "We’re really excited to share MINE with the people of Falmouth.
We’ve been so lucky to take on a great space in The Old Brewery Yard and there is phenomenal produce here in Cornwall. We really hope that everyone will come to call our restaurant MINE."
An ever-changing menu of three starters, three mains and three desserts, always offers one meat, one fish and one vegan option for each course.
Familiar British flavour combinations are in the menu, including playful dishes such as a chocolate ale cake with peanut custard, which re-defines the pub classic ‘beer and nuts’."
The kitchen is run exclusively by Angus Bell, formerly of The Star Inn at Harome and Le Gavroche, who is passionate about preserving the best of each season in pickles, oils and ferments and champions local suppliers such as the The Cornish Mushroom Company and Verdant Brewery.
MINE has an intimate dining room, while the open kitchen immediately removes the traditional barrier in a restaurant and as the chef passes plates to hungry diners, other tables chat amongst themselves.
The wine list, like the menu, is short but sweet, chosen to compliment the food and consisting of only two reds, two whites, one orange and one sparkling.
Restaurant MINE, is open Wednesday to Friday (6-9.30pm); Saturday and Sunday (12-2pm and 6-9.30pm).
