A car has overturned on one of the main roads into Penryn.

The A39 is blocked at Four Cross because of the incident just off the Treluswell Roundabout, close to the fuel station.

Emergency services are at the scene and the crash is causing delays in all directions, with traffic building up at every approach to the roundabout.

It is the latest in a number of crashes on roads in the area this morning.

There were also problems on Ashley Road at Shortlanesend near Truro, which was closed due to debris on the road from a three-vehicle crash between a van and two cars between The Old Plough Inn and Idless Lane.

Fire crews from Truro and Tolvaddon attended the scene around 9am after the ambulance service requested assistance at the three-vehicle road traffic collision.

There was a person trapped in the van. A flexi-duty station manager was also mobilised to take charge of the scene.

Crews used crash rescue equipment (CRE) to access the vehicle and the casualty was left in the care of the ambulance service. Crews assisted police with scene safety before returning to home stations.

An earlier crash on Station Road in Pool, between Carn Brea Avenue and Dundance Lane, has now been cleared.
