AN appeal for witnesses has been launched after a dog attacked a small child in a town centre.
A four-year-old girl was left with facial injuries after being bitten by a black and white collie-type dog, which was reportedly dangerously out of control at the time.
The incident happened outside Tesco Express in Market Jew Street, Penzance, on Friday, December 20, at around 10.40am.
Police have released details of the incident and the CCTV image today (Tuesday).
Officers would like to trace and speak with the owner so that the dog can be assessed.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are keen to speak to the man and woman pictured because they believe they could have information that could assist with their enquiries."
Anyone who may know the man or woman in the image, or witnessed the incident, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number CR/114241/19.
