A FALMOUTH woman drove without insurance or a licence.

Olivia Daisy Beard, aged 20, of Conway Road, admitted committing the offences in a Mazda at Tresillian on October 11.

She was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge. Her driving record was endorsed with eight points.

POSSESSING a large kitchen knife in a public place has resulted in a suspended prison sentence for a 39 year-old man.

Devin Michael Horton, of Green Hill, Redruth, admitted committing the offence in Boscawen Street, Truro, on January 3.

His six-month jail term was suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to comply with a rehabilitation and alcohol activity requirements.

He was also ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

A MAN who admitted causing criminal damage on Christmas Day has received a community order.

Peter David Mitchell-Robe, aged 35, of Dudnance Lane, Redruth, also pleaded guilty to three counts of assault on different dates.

On December 25 he destroyed a bedroom door frame and lock to the value of £200 of a property in Camborne.

One assault took place on December 23 and a further two on January 6. All of them were on women.

He must have treatment for alcohol dependency under the direction of Addaction for six months; he has been placed under electronic curfew for four months and must comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement.

He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.

A PENSIONER escaped a driving ban after explaining to magistrates that a disqualification would cause exceptional hardship.

Susan Ann Sear, aged 71, of Rosemundy, St Agnes, admitted breaking a 60mph speed limit at Roseworthy in a Citroen Berlingo on May 15.

The points took her over the ban threshold, but she told magistrates that her health and mobility issues, as well as her husband who relies on her for transport, would cause hardship if a ban was imposed.

She had three points put on her licence and was fined £40. She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

A TEENAGER has admitted a string of theft and violence offences.

Hayden James Mills, aged 19, of Sparnon Close, Redruth, pleaded guilty to a total of nine offences which took place last summer.

* On July 9 he committed an assault in Redruth

* On July 28 he stole clothing to the value of £35 from Peacocks; clothing from Sports Direct; and alcohol from Iceland to the value of £5.45. All offences took place in Penzance

* On July 28 he used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Penzance

* On August 8 he used threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Redruth

* On August 22 he stole £12 of alcohol from Co-op in Redruth

* On September 22 he stole £28 alcohol from Co-op in Redruth

* On October 9 he stole £24 of alcohol from Iceland in Redruth

Magistrates imposed a community order on Mills. He must have treatment for alcohol dependency under the direction of Addaction for six months.

He must also comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 20 days and carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.

He must also pay a total of £200 compensation, £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
