HUNDREDS of properties near Truro have been without power overnight.
The current tally stands at 157 homes in the TR2 postcode area, which largely centre around Tresillian.
The incident began just before 8pm last night and Western Power's latest estimate of restoring electricity is at 8am.
The company is classing it as a high voltage incident, which tend to affect larger, wider areas.
A few miles away from Tresillian on the A390, the road which runs from Truro to St Austell, firefighters cordoned off an area around a tree that had brought down power cables, after being blown over yesterday evening.
The tree completely blocked the road after falling at around 7pm.
Engineers from Western Power Distribution have isolated the cables to make them safe.
The road will remain closed until daylight, when Cornwall Highways will re-attend to clear the road.
