The planned road closure between Helston and The Lizard has been cancelled this evening due to the weather forecast.

The A3083 was due to be closed overnight between the Culdrose roundabout at Mainlay and the Ruan Minor turn off, for resurfacing work.

However, Cormac has announced this lunchtime that this would not be happening for the next two nights.

A spokesperson said: "We are cancelling our the closure of the A3083 tonight and tomorrow evening near Helston from Mainlay (Culdrose) to the Ruan Minor turn off.

"This is due to forecasted weather, which prevents us from carrying out our surfacing works."

The Packet revealed yesterday that the closure was expected to be in force until Friday, between 7pm and 6am on the first section of the road and between 7pm and 7am on the second section.

The first section, between Mainlay at Culdrose and Cury Cross Lanes, was expected to be completed by today, while the second closure section, which came into force on Monday night, is between Bochym Hill to Trevelyan Holiday Homes and Little Trethvas, near Ruan Minor and was expected to be in place until Friday.
