Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a 71 year-old man at the wheel of his car yesterday morning.
Emergency services attended the scene near Mawnan Smith where a grey Ford Fiesta and a black Saab estate had been in collision.
The Ford was travelling northbound and the Saab in the opposite direction.
A police spokesman said: "Despite the best efforts from members of the public and emergency services, the driver of the Ford, a local man in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
"The driver of the Saab was uninjured."
Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene and carried out a detailed investigation.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage, or witnessed either vehicle prior to the collision.
