A man has died after a collision in Redruth.

Police were called to Tolgus Wartha in the town at around 9.20pm on Tuesday after a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

Paramedics were also called to the scene.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Tragically a 67-year-old male local to the Redruth area died at the scene of the collision, his next of kin have been informed.

"Local police officers, operations department officers and specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full forensic examination.

"Police are requesting that any witnesses with any information and or dash camera footage are to please come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene."

Police are also keen to hear from a woman who was walking her dog and witnessed the collision, as she may have evidence that could assist the investigation.
