Mullion Holiday Park is being renamed to Lizard Point Holiday Park.

The park, which is 4.5 miles away from the UK's most southerly point of Lizard Point, is being given a £1.8 million makeover by owners Parkdean Resorts, including the new name.

A spokesperson for Parkdean said: “We’ve renamed the park to pay homage to its beautiful location on the Lizard Heritage Coast, with easy access to the Kynance coast and the surrounding areas at the tip of Cornwall.

“We’re investing over £1.8 million in the park this year, introducing new accommodation, upgrading facilities, and launching brand new activities and experiences for our guests.

"We’re confident that anyone visiting will love the new Lizard Point by Parkdean Resorts.”

As reported last month, the Mullion park and nearby Sea Acres at Kennack Sands are getting a combined £3.5 million makeover this year.

At Mullion, 22 new caravans will replace old fleet while there will be seven new two and three-bedroom seaview lodges at Sea Acres, along with 17 replacement caravans.

It is part of an £80million investment by Parkdean nationwide.

Now new publicity brochures sent out by the park give further details about the additions to the newly christened Lizard Point.

Activities at the park have been extended to include inflatable jet skis, a high ropes course and Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

There is also a new-look Boathouse Restaurant that is running a new menu.
