The Regional School’s Commissioners Headteacher Board met has arrived at a decision on the future of Falmouth School after meeting on Monday to discuss its rebrokerage.

The school can now announce the RSC has decided that from the September 1 2020, it will join The Roseland MAT.

Interim CEO of Falmouth MAT, Mark Lees, said: "On behalf of Falmouth Multi-Academy Trust I would like to thank the staff, students and parents of all three schools for their hard work, support and patience during this period.

"The improvements have been clear for all to see and it has been a pleasure to help lay the foundations for a brighter future of the students that attend these schools."

Following extensive discussions between the Diocese of Truro, the school's trust board and its leaders, it has been decided that the two primary schools will not be joining the Roseland MAT.

The Falmouth MAT Trustees and Mark Lees will be working with the Diocese of Truro to decide which local MAT offers the best opportunities for King Charles CE and St Francis CE to continue to thrive and flourish. We will keep you informed of these discussions and decisions.

Interim headteacher at Falmouth School, Alex George, said: “I know that you will all be relieved that this period of uncertainty has come to an end and that we now have a home where there are two other secondary schools (Roseland and Newquay Treviglas) that will be our partners and I would like to pay tribute to the work of the rrustees and Mark Lees in bringing this about.”
