THIS was the scene in Cornwall's party town of Newquay on Saturday night.
Streets that would normally be packed with revellers were deserted as police praised the public for staying at home during the coronavirus outbreak following the Government's decision to instruct pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants, along with a raft of other establishments, to close on Friday.
Newquay Police Response said on Twitter that the picture was taken at 11pm on Saturday and added: "Unprecedented times, not a soul in sight! Keep it up #Newquay you’re doing a great job, we can do this!"
