THREE more deaths from Covid-19 in Cornwall have been confirmed this afternoon.

It brings the death toll for the county to 19.

NHS England said that the latest three deaths happened on Monday at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

No further details have yet been released.

As of last night the number of confirmed cases in Cornwall was 99 and it has been confirmed this afternoon that the total is now 114 - an increase of 15.

Today's national figures from the Department of Health show the number of COVID-19 deaths reported in the UK has risen by 569 to 2,921.

The number of confirmed cases has risen by 4,244 to 33,718.

The patients were aged between 22 and 100 years old; 44 of the 561 patients (aged between 25 and 100 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

The latest figures cover deaths which have been reported by trusts and verified in the 24 hours prior to 5pm yesterday (Wednesday).
