ONE more person has been confirmed as having lost their life to coronavirus in Cornwall in the past 24 hours.

This afternoon's NHS England update shows that the number of people who have died at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has risen to 25, from 24 yesterday.

The total for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust remains at 58, meaning that 83 people have died as a result of Covid-19 at hospitals in Cornwall.

The figures do not include deaths in the community, of which there have been at least 35, according to Office for National Statistics figures.

Across England a further 366 people who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 21,750, NHS England said.

Patients were aged between 29 and 99 years old. Of those, 14 – aged between 49 and 85 – had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.

In the south west as a whole there have been 17 new deaths.

There are currently 522 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
